BareSkin vs BareMinerals

Finally my take on the two foundations I’ve tried from bareMinerals (still looking to try complexion rescue in the future!)
First of all, I’d like to say I’ve been using the mineral foundation for about 8 years & have never once strayed away from it because I tend to breakout from liquid foundation. But, I thought I would give BareSkin a try because my face loves this brand. Anyways, on to the review.

Color Selection: Both foundations have a good variety of colors, it was easy to find the perfect match for me. I don’t think this will be a problem for anyone.
Application: It’s pretty much the same for both. You use the circular motions to buff the foundation into the skin. The liquid you waste less since there is no powder that disappears into the air (annoying!) and it only takes four drops for my entire face. I use about a dime size amount of the mineral powder.

Coverage: Now here’s the big difference for me. By far the BareSkin covered my face better. It gave it a more smooth look and covered the redness of my nose and cheeks. My face looked flawless. I’m not saying my face didn’t look great with the mineral power, but liquid took it to the next level like most do.

Wear: I tend to have combination skin: oily in the t-zone and dry everywhere else. The mineral powder is good for my t-zone, I barely have to touch up anything throughout the day. I probably apply Mineral Veil maybe once a day on my nose and forehead. However, with the liquid man did I have to touch up. I was using the Perfect Veil like no other! I was touching up every couple of hours from the amount of shine I had on my face.

Skin Effects: Good thing thing about both is neither of them made me breakout. Just make sure to wash your face properly every night. DO NOT SLEEP IN YOUR MAKEUP. All in all, my skin was just the same for both.

Summary: It’s a toss up for me, to be honest. It would depend on my day and occasion. If it’s just a normal wear day I would use the mineral powder foundation so I don’t need to worry about touch ups. But for a party? I would want a more smooth and finished look, so I would go with the liquid and make sure to excuse myself to touch up. I’m definitely going to keep both on hand from now on.
